First and foremost, the faculty and staff at Avalon wish you a safe and restful Spring Break. The adults will report back to work for planning day on Monday, March 23rd, and students report back on Tuesday, March 24th for the final quarter of the 2025/2026 school year. Please continue to monitor your child’s grades as we approach the end of the year.
Earlier this past week, all 6th and 7th grade students were given 7th & 8th Grade Course Registration sheets during their science classes. Seventh graders received yellow course registration sheets and 6th graders received blue registration sheets. Please work with your child to select desired courses for their 2026/2027 school year. You can complete this task on-line via a QR code (found on the registration forms) or simply return the form to the school. These are due on or before Friday, March 27th.
If you are interested, the Controlled Open Enrollment transfer period for Santa Rosa County will begin on April 3rd and go through May 18th. Beginning April 3rd you can access the Transfer Form, the 26-27 School Choice Plan and the 26-27 Controlled Open Enrollment Capacity Chart on our school district’s website under school choice. Directions for completing the transfer form and submitting it can also be found on the district’s website. Parents without internet can pick up a paper copy from the front office. If you have questions regarding the transfer process, please contact your student’s Grade Level Director at 850 983-5150.
Again, have a safe and restful Spring Break. We will see you soon.
Go KNIGHTS!

Good evening, Avalon families.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we are conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education to monitor our progress in creating a positive school experience for you and your child(ren). Your feedback is crucial in helping us identify areas for recognition and improvement.
The survey will ask you to select the school your child(ren) attends. Once you complete the survey for one school, you will have the option to provide feedback on another school, if you have a child at another school in the district. Providing feedback to each school should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. We encourage you to complete it in one sitting, as your responses will be saved once you click submit.
The Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey can be accessed here:
• Santa Rosa County District Schools - Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey
https://surveys.studereducation.com/f/41822447/4417/
The survey is scheduled for 2/17/2026 through 3/13/2026.
To maintain confidentiality of the Parent/Caregiver Survey, our partners at Studer Education will be administering the survey, managing the data collection, and aggregating the data to provide results reports to leaders.
Thank you for your partnership & Go KNIGHTS!

This is Mr. Stokes with a few very important announcements. First, please remember tomorrow evening, Thursday, 2/19, Avalon will hold it's annual AMS STEAM Night from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. We will have multiple stations where teachers will highlight STEAM activities, as well as multiple booths set up to highlight our elective classes. Please stop by to check these out as we will send out 2026/2027 Course Selection forms in the very near future. While we will have some food available inside the school (limited amounts), we will also have Kona Ice and Rolling Embers Brick Oven on site at the parent drop-off/pick-up loop selling food items. Please join us.
Also, Pace High School is excited to host a c/o 2030 Parent Night. This event will take place on Monday, March 2nd, 2026, from 4:30–5:30 pm at Pace High School’s Gym. During Parent Night, they will share essential information about your child’s upcoming transition to high school. Pace High wishes to invite all parents of current 8th-grade students who will attend Pace High next year. If you cannot attend in person, they will provide a recording and presentation slides afterward.
The third quarter of the school year will be over very soon. Please continue to monitor your child's grades and reach out to their teachers when you have concerns. Also, please help us emphasize the importance of regular attendance.
Thank you & Go KNIGHTS!

Coach Napier has applications and will also take completed applications. 🙂
